You know, after I stayed up really late last night and into the morning, my vision started to go a bit wonky.

Something is very wonky when I have a full pot of coffee but no cream to go in it. :-(

I was wondering if wonky was a real word, so I looked it up on dictionary.com and found the definition. I was so excited that I had to share it with everyone. So tell the naysayers that it is real!

Janky, however, is not on dictionary.com. :(

oh, but 'manky' is: adj : inferior and worthless

That's another one that I get called out on a lot... though I don't think that I've been using it quite right. I'll have to fix that.

There's such a word as manky??? OMG you made my day!

"MySpace 'blogs' are manky compared to LiveJournal."

But "janky" is so a word. How can it not be in the dictionary? How? How are we supposed to describe jerry-rigging something, if we can't say, "Oh it's just a janky little thing I threw together.

Holy shit! I can't believe you've unlocked the humor of the word "wonky". My old boss used it all the time.

janky rules
yes yes yes...janky was our defining adverb at Burning Man last year. We even re-named our bar "Janky's" after several dehyderation-induced design decision's. I feel a particluar pride having introduced the group to it.

And look, here's the proff of the word:

perhaps it's that the word sounds British but not slang way. or that makes whoever says it seem both intellectual & hip. the same way the word "smarmy" immediately conjures up visions of LA in the mid- seventies. would the holy fleetwood-mac be excluded?

Don't try to pick another Fleetwood Mac fight with me! Do I need to make you a userpic?

I'm writing a paper on rahaeli with her permission (of course), which I hope won't go wonky. Can you help me by answering one simple question? I would like to add in the paper what some other people think about rahaeli, so that it's not just my thoughts :)

What do you think of her?

Well that's not a simple question! :) I think rahaeli is intelligent, caring, principled, creative, helpful, trustworthy, engaging, and a whole lot of fun. If you can give me the context of your paper, I might be able to give you some better feedback...

Thank you! I haven't started writing the paper yet; I think it will be mainly about what she does and how she got where she is now, how she interacts with volunteers, how she can brighten one's day... Today I wrote down what I wanted to convey about her:

- her sense of humour
- her dedication and professionalism
- caring about her people
- how easy-going she is

and other stuff.

It will be mostly based on an interview with her (via email) and some of her journal entries, maybe. I just thought it might be nice to add what some other people besides me think about her. I think that everyone agrees that she is awesome :)

Once you get underway with writing your paper, you can email me at my ljkrissy@ email address and I'll try to help out. Good luck with the paper!
